About Us
Welcome to Mann Library!
I’m pleased to welcome you to the new Mann Library website, launched for the start of the 2009/2010 academic year. With our re-organized site, we aim to realize the easiest possible access to a powerful array of resources, services and features in support of world-class research and scientific communication. In line with a dynamically changing information landscape, our look on the web may now be different, but our commitment is unchanged. Excellent service in the delivery of information and information technology to students, faculty, scholars, extension agents and other practitioners in the life science, agriculture, human ecology and applied social science fields remains our guiding principle.
On behalf of the Mann Library staff, I invite you to tap into the new features of the Mann website as well as the facilities of the renovated Mann building. Reopened in the fall of 2007, the Mann building offers state-of-the-art resources for teaching and learning. From quiet study rooms and brightly lit stacks to collaborative technology in our Bissett Center and a lively library lobby filled with the buzz of collegial discussions and student activities, Mann provides a comfortable, inviting, and technology-rich place to learn, reflect, and connect with fellow colleagues, students, faculty and staff.
Of course, Mann Library is even more than a great place. Much of Mann Library’s outstanding collection—in subject areas ranging from agriculture to zoology, from child development to gerontology, from biology to business—is now available online. Key journals and powerful indexes and databases are available 24/7 through the Library’s online access. Helpful staff are available in person at the service desks in the Library, as well as by phone, via chat reference service, and through Blackboard links. Mann Library offers unparalleled access to the information resources that will advance today’s scholarship in service of generations to come.
We hope you will enjoy using the vibrant, friendly and high-tech learning spaces—both physical and virtual—that make up Mann Library. We look forward to working with you as you learn to take advantage of all that our fine facility has to offer. If you have any comments or suggestions, please be sure to get in touch with us. We’d be delighted to hear from you!
