Who We Serve

As one of the Cornell University Library system's twenty unit libraries, Albert R. Mann Library’s collections and services support the faculty, staff and students of the University. In particular our resources and staff support the instruction, research, and extension programs of Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and College of Human Ecology.

Mann’s print and digital collections cover a wide range of cross-cutting basic and applied sciences, from genetics to plant breeding, neurobiology to animal science, nutritional biochemistry to food science, ecology and evolutionary biology to natural resources, human development and family studies to business management, design and environmental analysis to textiles and apparel. Further information about Mann Library's collection policies is available online.

As a land grant library for the State of New York, Mann is also open to the general public. All visitors are welcome to make on-site use of the library’s facilities, computer equipment, and reference assistance. New York State resident borrowing cards are available to New York State residents for four-week book loans. We strive to make our electronic resources open to the public as well, although for contractual reasons certain databases are restricted to current members of the Cornell community.
