Specialized Computing Workstations

There are several specialized workstations at Mann Library that you can use. Below are brief descriptions. If you need any help with these, please ask at the Reference Desk or the Computer Operators' Desk. To see a map showing where these stations are located, click here.

Assistive Technology Station
Do library research with assistive aids for viewing, hearing, scanning, Brailling and printing. Features include:

  • JAWS (screen reading software)
  • Kurzweil (Braille translation software)
  • MAGic (screen magnification software)
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking (screen reading and voice-to-text software)
  • Duxbury (Braille translation software)
  • Romeo Brailler (embosser for Braille documents)

Microfilm/Microfiche Scanning Station:

Make digital scans of microfilm and/or microfiche, for viewing, printing and saving.

Business Computing Cluster:

  • Bloomberg Station: Bloomberg is an online financial service providing quotes and technical analysis of U.S. and international securities. It also provides: company news industry news market news historical economic data from the IMF
  • CEIC Data: dedicated Windows XP workstation for research using CEIC Data in Microsoft Excel.
  • LehmanLive: dedicated Windows XP workstation for LehmanLive business research.
