CISER (Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research)
In cooperation with other CISER units, the Data Archive acquires, maintains, and supports numeric files for use by social science researchers at Cornell University. The Archive's service component includes individualized assistance to identify and locate datasets to meet specific information needs, whether those data are available locally or elsewhere. CISER also offers workshops, many conducted at Mann Library.
CISER Computing Helpdesk responds to e-mail (ciser@cornell.edu) and telephone (255-1359) inquiries regarding both statistical and qualitative data analysis software. These helpdesk services are available to all Cornell faculty, staff, and students doing faculty-directed academic research.
Cornell Statistical Consulting Unit
The Cornell Statistical Consulting Unit (CSCU) provides extensive services and instruction to support research and undergraduate and graduate studies, including: research design; data acquisition and manipulation; planning, implementing, and interpreting statistical analysis; and provision of statistical software.
Mann Library Reference
The Library provides basic statistics assistance for students. Library assistance is limited to descriptive statistics, data formatting and simple graphs using Excel, Minitab, and SPSS.
