‌ Lorenzo Langstroth, Beekeeper Unvarnised
December 25th, Christmas Day, is widely known as a day for sharing and giving. It also happens to be the birthday of a man known as the father of American beekeeping: Lorenzo Langstroth, born Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1810.

Van Tienhoven Travel Award promotes professional growth & development for Mann staff
On Wednesday, November 29, Mann Library staff gathered with members of the van Tienhoven family for an award ceremony made possible through the generosity of the Ans van Tienhoven Memorial Fund.

GIS Day @ Mann Library
For GIS Day 2023, the Cornell community and Ithaca area public were invited to drop by Mann Library for a multi-media celebration of maps both old and new, the technologies that create them, and the worlds they help us see and understand. 

Collections news: JoVE Videos now available!
Thanks to a recent one-time funding opportunity, Cornell University Library has unlimited access to the more than 17,000 videos in the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) for the next 2 years.

Open Access Week 2023
International Open Access Week 2023 was October 23-29. This year’s theme, “Community over Commercialization”, encouraged conversation about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community. 

Self-checkout launched at library
Among several ways patrons can check out book and other materials from Cornell University Library, a new service offers anohter convenient option: letting them do it on their own, with the Cornell Self-Checkout kiosk and app.
