Print Collections

Current Periodicals

Select journals designated as “current periodicals” in the library catalog are located on the 1st floor in the Current Periodical Area. All other print journals are shelved in the regular stacks by call number. Many of our journals are available only in electronic format, search our E-Journals or the library catalog to get access to these current issues.

Ellis Collection

The Ellis Collection was established in 1949 from a bequest of Edith A. Ellis to Mann Library and is housed on the first floor of the library. This endowment was intended “for the purchase of books for cultural reading,” and designed to foster reading for pleasure. These books are related to subjects normally collected by Mann Library, such as farming, natural history, and family life, but are popular, literary, or personal treatments of these areas.

Curriculum Materials Collection

The Curriculum Materials Collection at Mann Library was developed as a joint effort with the Cornell Teacher Education department to relocate resources from their Teaching Materials Center. The Collection consists of science and agricultural educational materials for use in middle and high school classrooms. In addition to serving the needs of Cornell students and faculty connected to the minor in Education, the collection is also of interest to area science and agricultural instructors and others involved in science curriculum development. Items in the collection can be located via the Library Catalog by searching “Curriculum Materials Collection” as a call number or by simply browsing “Library Location > Mann Library > Curriculum Materials Collection
