New students and their families are invited to stop by Mann Library during New Student Orientation, August 18–20, to explore the library, meet our staff, and learn about the spaces and services available to support you throughout your time at Cornell.
Take a Tour of Mann Library
Why do so many Cornell students call Mann their “home away from home”? Join us for a 45-minute orientation tour to find out! Along the way, you’ll discover some of Mann’s most popular study spaces – including 24/7 spaces, individual and group study rooms, and our sensory study room – and learn the essentials of using the library, from finding books in the stacks to using the library’s printers, to booking a consultation with a librarian.
Tours depart from the Mann Library lobby at the following times:
- Tuesday, August 18: 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. (Families welcome!)
- Wednesday, August 19 & Thursday, August 20: 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Tours last approximately 45 minutes and include time for questions.
Stop By Our New Student Welcome
Not ready for a tour, or have some time to fill before yours begins? Stop by our welcome table in the Mann lobby while tours are running. Mann staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you get acquainted with the library, and we’ll have fun DIY activities available for students and families to enjoy.
Whether you come for a tour, make something in the lobby, or just stop by to say hello, we hope you’ll make Mann Library one of your first stops on campus. Come find your new favorite study spot and discover why Mann is the “best place to discover 10 million new ideas!”
